fotographic document of a performance
These are not (self-)portraits.
The images are the results of a performance where I use my body as a vehicle to give a physical appearance to a feeling of rejection, disgust and repugnance.
Shaking your body as a physical act of nausea and the attempt of shaking off what is too much – terrible images, media affronts, impertinence of everyday life in a turbocapitalist and globalised world, things, products, entertainment and political decisions which affect me but which I cannot really affect in turn. Which leave me shaking my head in perplexity.
Shaking your head as an existential and deeply human gesture of helplessness that comes before words.
And before an actual reaction…
